Lock of the Day: Dennis Schroder vs. Phoenix Suns - Over 13.5 Points (-108)
Reasoning:
Schroder has been terrific offensively against the Suns all year, posting 17 points in their first matchup and 22 in their second. In game one, Schroder logged 14 points in a low scoring battle with the Suns. Expect another high scoring night for Schroder as the Lakers look to take revenge against the Suns after a poor performance in game one.
Jacob’s Pick: Kawhi Leonard vs. Dallas Mavericks - OVER 1.5 Steals (-120)
Reasoning:
Leonard is known for his defensive abilities and after an embarrassing loss in game one, the star will be highly motivated to shut down Luka Doncic and the Mavericks in game two. Doncic has struggled with turning the ball over all year, averaging 4.3 turnovers per game which is the second-highest in the league. On the season, Leonard averaged 3.0 steals per game against the Mavericks in their two regular season battles. In game one, Leonard notched four steals, so expect the forward to post another impressive defensive stat line as the Clippers attempt to lock up Doncic.
Anthony’s Pick: Tristan Thompson vs. Brooklyn Nets - OVER 7.5 Rebounds (-123)
Reasoning:
Thompson had a solid rebounding performance in game one against the Nets posting 10 rebounds, 5 of which were offensive, and only with 25 minutes of playing time. Thompson posted 9 rebounds in the last regular season meeting between the teams, and has averaged 8.1 this season while sharing minutes at the center position. Expect this to be a more competitive game that could call for Thompson’s experience over that of backup Robert Williams, and if not the production in the last game shows he can still hit over the line.
