Lock of the Day: Aaron Gordon vs. Phoenix Suns - OVER 12.5 Points (-135)
Reasoning:
Gordon started off the series with a playoff best 18 points, and will look to carry that momentum into Game 2. His scoring was fairly consistent in Denver’s series against Portland. He scored double digits in 5 of their 6 games, and averaged 12.5 points per game in that span. With Michael Porter Jr. questionable and potentially seeing fewer minutes, this is a great value pick at a points total we’ve seen Gordon consistently hit.
Jacob’s Pick: Nikola Jokic vs. Phoenix Suns - OVER 1.5 Three-pointers Made (-156)
Reasoning:
Jokic has shot the deep ball exceptionally well all year, especially in the playoffs, as he’s making 42.5 percent from range. The MVP has hit at least 2 three-pointers in every game in the postseason except for Game 4 against Portland which was a blowout. With the Suns on the verge of taking a commanding lead in their series with the Nuggets, expect Jokic to put up a fight and score a ton, with some baskets coming from behind the three-point arc.
Anthony’s Pick: Devin Booker vs. Denver Nuggets - OVER 4.5 Assists (-143)
Reasoning:
While Booker’s scoring has been on full display so far this postseason, his ability to make plays for his teammates might be overlooked. Booker averaged 5 assists per game against the Lakers in Round 1, and picked up 8 in Game 1 against the Nuggets. Denver will continue to have a heavy defensive focus on Booker which if taken advantage of will result in another solid assist total.
